Mohsin Naqvi lands in Dhaka

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Lands in Dhaka to Lead ACC Annual meeting

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi has arrived in Dhaka for the annual general meeting (AGM). He is the president of the Asian Cricket Council and will lead the meeting. Bangladesh Cricket Board chairman Aminul Islam welcomed Mohsin Naqvi at the Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport. They will have dinner on Wednesday for more talks.

Mohsin Naqvi will take charge of the AGM on 25 July 2025. This meeting will commence in Dhaka and will decide the fate of the Asia Cup 2025. Let the charge begin, and everything will become clear in this meeting.

Pakistan Takes the Lead

The Pakistan chairman has arrived first and will preside over the meeting. PCB will likely try to save its revenue amid the Asia Cup 2025 host. Pakistan has all the decisions and leads in hand, led by Mohsin Naqvi.

No other team’s chairman has arrived at the moment. It also raises a significant doubt about the 2025 Asia Cup. Pakistan has all the positions in the presidency and support in the ACC.

Key Decisions Await

As the ACC president arrives in Dhaka, fans have significant questions on their minds. The AGM on July 25 will clear up all doubts and uncertainties. Fans are waiting for the decision that benefits both parties.

Fans always want cricket without politics. They want to see rivalries and big matches amongst big teams. The Friday meeting will make it all for the fans or nothing for cricket.

India, Sri Lanka Absent

India and Sri Lanka are so far absent from this meeting. The ACC quorum requires 3 test-playing nations for its meetings to be considered valid. If neither India nor Sri Lanka participates in the meeting, it will not be considered valid. One of the boards must participate to obtain a meeting quota.

BCCI would want Pakistan to suffer a loss of 1.25 billion rupees amid the tension. As this meeting approaches, doubts have grown.

Final Thoughts

As ACC president and PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi lands in Dhaka, uncertainty has increased. The Asia Cup 2025 decision will get its final look in the meeting. ACC’s unity is now in question?

With tensions high and major stakeholders absent, one big question remains: Will the Asia Cup 2025 happen?
