Pakistan to Announce 18-Man Squad in 2–3 Days for the Asia Cup 2025
The Asia Cup 2025 is nearing its start. PCB is about to announce the tri-series and Asia Cup 2025 squad in two to three days. PCB is going to pick 18 players in the squad, 3 more than usual. Only 15 players will play in the tournament, with 3 players in reserve.
This 18-man squad may feature Babar Azam as a replacement for Fakhar Zaman if he suffers injury again. Salman Mirza and Ahmed Daniyal will be the other two players in reserve. The reports say they may feature in the 15-member squad.
Selection Talks with Agha and Hesson Underway
The PCB selection committee has consulted with Salman Ali Agha and Mike Heeson. They want the captain and coach to make a list of players. This list will be sent to the PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, for a final decision.
If the PCB chairman approves it, Pakistan will announce its final squad for the Tri-series and the Asia Cup 2025. Salman Mirza and Ahmed Daniyal may feature in the Tri-series, resting Shaheen and Haris. This squad will be announced in two to three days.

Fakhar Zaman on Track for Fitness
Fakhar Zaman, who suffered a hamstring injury in the West Indies series. He is going to rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. He is about to fit in 2-3 days.
If Fakhar passes the fitness test, he will be completely available for the Tri-Series and the Asia Cup 2025. Fakhar will play all the matches and show his skills in the tournament. So, the vice-captain will be back, and there will be no need to choose any other player as his replacement.
Shadab Khan Likely to Miss Tri-Series & Asia Cup
Shadab Khan suffered a shoulder injury in the PSL. He played a T20I series against Bangladesh at home. His injury got chronic. He went for surgery, and the doctors advised him 8 weeks.
Shadab Khan has not recovered completely yet. He is likely to miss the Asia Cup 2025. He will not be available for the Tri-Series and the Asia Cup 2025.
