Pakistan announces squad for West Indies Series, 3 T20Is and 3ODIs
The Pakistan cricket board has announced the Pakistan squad for the white ball series against the West Indies. They have made three changes in the T20I and added new players to the ODI squad. There are 3T20Is and 3 ODIs scheduled to start from the first of August.
This series will start from 01 August to 12 August 2025. Here are 15 players in the T20I and 16 players in the ODI squad. Some youngsters have been out of the series.

PCB has made three changes in the T20I squad. Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Hassan Ali are in. They have replaced Salman Mirza, Abbas Afridi, and Ahmed Daniyal. Salman Ali Agha remains the captain of the Pakistan team in the West Indies series. There is no vice captain announced for the T20I squad after Shadab Khan’s injury.

Why did PCB drop in form players?
PCB has dropped youngsters from the new T20I squad. Fans are not happy seeing good players out of the team. In fact, PCB has decided to give every player a chance. So, they added experienced players against the giant team.
Apart from that, if we look at any other reason, the West Indies are a big team, and there is also the loss of the previous series. The Bangladesh series dropped Pakistan’s Ranking from 6 to 8 with the loss of points. Maybe this is also one of the reasons PCB doesn’t want to lose the upcoming series.

Muhammad Rizwan is the captain, and Salman Ali Agha is the vice-captain of the Pakistan team in ODIs. PCB has added new players to the ODI squad. Hasan Nawaz will debut with Faheem Ashraf, Muhammad Haris, Mohammad Nawaz, and Hussain Talat are back in the ODIs. Haris Rauf has also recovered from the injury, participating in both ODI and T20I.
Big names added again
Babar Azam, Muhammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi are back in cricket again. Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan will play in ODIs, while Shaheen Afridi will play in both formats. After losing to Bangladesh, PCB cannot take any risks.

The Pakistan tour of the West Indies is a big source to prepare for the Asia Cup 2025. Pakistan team can play at different grounds and situations against West Indies. This tour will help Pakistan a lot to test their team’s strengths and weaknesses.
PCB wanted to change 3 ODIS to T20Is also. However, West Indies cricket board declined their request. In this request, it is clear Pakistan wants to be completely ready for the Asia Cup 2025.
