Selectors Close to Finalising Babar Azam’s Inclusion in Asia Cup 2025 Squad

PCB has a rule that they will have the final decision after voting. Selectors will talk to each other and vote for their players. Five out of six members voted in favor of Babar Azam.

Only Captain Salman Ali Agha opposed this decision. He wanted to go with the same team that played against the West Indies. However, PCB didn’t reveal the Babar Azam inclusion in the squad.

PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi supported the decision to include Babar. He was also in favor of Babar Azam. It almost confirmed that he will play in the Tri-Series and the Asia Cup.

Former Pakistan captains and coaches also supported this decision. Azhar Ali, Asad Shafique, Aleem Dar, Aqib Javed, and coach Mike Hesson voted in favor of Babar Azam. It opened up ways for Babar to play in the big tournament again in T20Is.
