Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf need a rest from cricket to be fresh for the Asia Cup 2025. PCB has decided to give both pacers some rest due to workload management. They are in the plans for the Asia Cup 2025.
Pakistan’s premium pacers will have some rest due to fitness reasons. They will be completely fresh to get back for the Asia Cup. PCB made this decision just after the defeat by 5 wickets against the West Indies.
Replacements for Shaheen & Haris in Tri-Series
PCB has given the premium pacers a complete rest for the big tournament. A question comes to the minds of fans. Who is replacing these bowlers?
Fast bowler Salman Mirza and all-rounder Ahmed Daniyal are likely to get a place for the Tri-Series. They will join the Pakistan team in the UAE tri-series starting on 29 August 2025. Pakistan will play this series against the UAE and Afghanistan.
Fakhar Zaman’s Asia Cup 2025 Return
Fakhar Zaman got injured in the T20I series against the West Indies. He was chasing the ball on the ground and felt pain in his hamstring. PCB sent him to Lahore for a complete recovery.
GEO Super confirmed in a report that he is available for the upcoming tri-series and the Asia Cup. PCB will likely confirm it in the squad update expected after the West Indies series.
Shadab Khan Out of the Asia Cup 2025
Shadab Khan had a shoulder injury in the PSL. Later, he played for Pakistan, but his injury was mild. He went for surgery and treatment.
He is now officially out and not in the plans for the Asia Cup 2025. As the doctor suggested, he took a big rest to recover completely. So, he is not in any plans for the upcoming T20I cricket.
Pakistan’s Tri-series schedule
